Are you trying to get me in trouble?

RE: 2 of the posts above

Hey:

Fun is fun and all, but I'm a very happily married man, and I'd like to stay that way. I'm not amused by suggestions of infidelity, even in jest. Please kindly refrain from them in regard to me.

Thanks heaps.

Well said, Poet. And my husband's a very jealous guy. Good thing he's not a member of AW.

OK, direct all jokes of infidelity to me. If my wife does not like it, I will kick her out. And her boyfriend too!

As you all were saying, I don't know Poet so well, but he's always seemed nice to me. Rhyme, on the other hand- I have met in person and she is indeed, without question, a person of the highest quality. :)

So what exactly does one have to do to be showered with such praise? Is it really that they're nice folks? Or did someone get you a job with Farrar, Strauss and Giroux?

I hope it's not the former otherwise I'm doomed.

(Though if it's the latter, I sure could use a hook up myself. For real.)

Actually we just wrote some short poems for Nique. Or at least that's what I did. It was just a small thing, really.

Hmmm... wonder if someone can be equally nice while being a tremendously crappy poet? Are there genre requirement to niceness?

(I've mastered silliness. Does that count?)

Oh you are touching on deep philosophy there. This Master in Silliness might however do the trick! But with niceness and the genre requierments for that ... well that boils down to 'Fingerspitzen Gefuhl' - tips of the fingers kind of thing. You got to be German for that etc. Or being born in Texas. Say, would you vote for me if I come up as the new govenor for Texas? Just asking as a by-line type of thing. Its only the two of us in this thread tonight etc. You know what I mean = two stooges on the set ... when everybody else is having fun somewhere off-stage.

Dear oh dear.

Well, it's nice to be thought about anyway!

I'll have to put a new avatar in, with a hat (will my "Yankee Hater" one do the trick?)
