Recently this series is being shown on a local station. It originally ran on the CBC from 1998-2005. It is a crime drama about a Vancouver coroner, Dominic DaVinci. It has been in syndication for a few years and the first two seasons are available on hulu and sharetv. It is a gritty, realistic show. Beautifully filmed, the writing is great as is the acting. It's won numerous awards for writing, acting and directing. It does not pander to it's audience but requires them to pay attention and think. As in real life, not everything is black and white but varying shades of grey. The creator and main force behind the show is Chris Haddock. He has also done a series on CBS that was canceled mid-way through it's first season called The Handler. Two followups on CBC were DaVinci's City Hall and Intelligence. I recommend the show highly.

Hubby and I watch this show from time to time. Really enjoy it.

I hate it. It reeks of bad Canadian TV. Everybody I know mocks shows like this one as another good reason to steer clear of Canadian TV. It makes me cringe...especially the 'star' of the show.
