View Full Version : Need a Beta for Science Fiction Short Story

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I came because I wanted someone to take a look at a story I wrote for a Religion and Science Fiction course I took last year. I was thinking about trying to submit it to a SciFi magazine and see how that works out. But before I do that, I would greatly appreciate it if someone took a look at it and critiqued it.

The story is about 2300 words long, and it was inspired by a few lines in A Canticle for Leibowitz, specifically the part in the first book where Brother Francis mentions a crusade in post-apocalyptic America. The story essentially focuses on such a crusade, centered around a single character who has a bit of back story as well. I hesitate to say more because the end of the story is my attempt at being Twilight Zoneish.

I will gladly accept any style of critique, save for out right flaming.

Thank you!

You might be better off putting, say, the first half up in the Share Your Work forum. People are more usually willing to crit a bit than the whole work.
