Sometimes a book idea is sparked by a particularly intriguing headline.
But in the day of the cable news bottom-of-the-screen scrawl, the possibilities are endless. See, they only provide a snippet, with no context whatsoever. I think an entire book of short stories ideas could be gleaned from them.
For example, a few days ago, a CNN scrawl provided this:
"Man in Hong Kong arrested by police, then given bicycle."
That was it. Imagine the possibilities.
