A really cool place
Many thoughts and prayers going out all over the country today. Sad day. I miss the solidarity of the nation in the weeks following the crashes.

W/ all the wind we've been having, you can see the lights at night.

I'm going out on my boat, tonight just to remember. I am stunned that it's 9 years.

Prayers to all the families of those who lost loved ones.

May we always remain united and never forget.

I did go out on the water, tonight and it was an incredibly somber view of Manhattan.

A new moon on the horizon w/ the city lights and the twin light beams where the Towers once stood, breaking through the clouds. I was out w/ a friend and it was near impossible to not cry. We recalled where we were that day and what a literal ghost town Westport was, as well as the neighboring towns.

Several days later, they identified some of the victims by the cars that remained in the train parking lots, unclaimed.

I don't have anything really coherent to say and apparently I've cried all over my mouse and made it wonky, but to every man and woman who goes into danger when the rest of us run away: Thank you.

Such paltry words, but sincerely meant.

In God I dwell, especially in Eugene OR
Sat Nam! (literally "Truth Name"--a Sikh greeting)

Here in Eugene we've had interfaith services every month on the 11th to commemorate. You may be able to find an interfaith service today near you, if you live in a large or medium large city.

Blessings,

Siri Kirpal

It's hard to look at my email from Facebook because people have their avatars changed to pictures of our friend who was lost on Flight 77.

Her lovely parents should be enjoying their grandchildren today. They didn't even get to see her get married, as she was engaged when she got on her plane for her exciting trip to Australia. She was so damned young and innocent :(

And they almost took my neighbor, too. Words can't describe the horror of sweet, average folks you know being plucked off the face of the earth for absolutely nothing.

Those buildings really were amazing. But they did a very good job on the memorial. I watched some special they did on PBS about how they built it. Fascinating. I'd love to visit it in New York one day.
