Sing it to me!

I know the lyrics to a lot of Nursery Rhymes. Of course, they are not the original lyrics

Well, many many of them. But whenever I'm trying to find something in my house, I sing: And I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

The entire Midian album by Cradle Of Filth. Harder to memorise than it sounds...

I have too many songs memorized to name.

And so many songs I just blurt out singing to my little dog.

My little dog is a little dog, she's a little dog, she's a little dog-dog.

I usually sing to my dog: "Shut the Hell up, stop biting me, and stop chewing on my shoes, you little bitch, la la la la, la di da la, fnarr."

I've had Take Me The Way I Am (by Ingrid Michaelson) stuck in my head for several days.

A song to sing while cleaning the house:

Without trying I've memorized substantial amounts of the output of certain bands, from "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah..." to "There will be no sorrow an answer, let it be"

Also stuck in between are:

When terrified (typically when skiing or driving on the A14 -- skiing down a mountain, I mean, not skiing on the A14) I've been known to sing the whole of Blood on the Tracks. And two different versions of Tangled up in Blue.

Anything from Adam Ant's Wonderful album.

Oh man, I sing to myself A LOT.

I can probably sing all the songs off Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.

And just about any song off any album by Depeche Mode.

And any song off The Sun and the Moon Complete by The Bravery.

I usually have a theme going...

For example, I'll try to come up with as many songs that mention a town or a city:

No, I have no song lyrics memorized. I'm one of those people who never can understand what the singer is trying to sing.

I do have nearly all the advertising jingles of the 60s memorized, however.

At the moment, I have almost all of "Again" by the inestimable YUI memorized--which is possibly impressive, considering it's all in Japanese, or just incredibly geeky. The latter is more probable, I'd figure.

Also, I have at least six other Japanese songs in my playlist 90-100% memorized by heart (redundancy!!), and can at least sing a good quarter of all the others with a good approximation of the proper lyrics. And I don't even know most of what I'm saying. But it's so fun!

I have so many songs memorized, it's rather pathetic. I have the entirety of many, many musicals memorized, my favorites being "Starmites," "Les Miserables" (okay, maybe I haven't memorized EVERY song....), "Sunset Boulevard," "Bat Boy," "Ragtime," "Newsies," "Wicked," "The Secret Garden," the first act of "Aspects of Love".... and a billion more. Oh, and "Phantom of the Opera." (Holy crap! How'd I forget Phantom...?)

And... uh... my "pop music" memorization skillz encompass Avril Lavigne's "Let Go." And the bajillions of J-pop songs I have, but those are a seperate category altogether.

I love music.... and music-related threads.

I'm a living repository of lyrics from 80's and early 90's country music. I've also got a broad mix of earlier country as well.

Currently, my eight month old and I are revisiting all the songs I learned in kindergarten from Wee Sing America.
