September 2010 Goals - Ready, Set, GO!

It's AUGUST 31st where I am. ???


ETA: Sure...now the title is changed and my post makes no sense. Little had a bitty brain fart, though...I swear! (-;

I hit 50k last month. The plan this month is to hit 70k.

This means I'll have to double my output, but hey, the imminent loss of my UI is a great motivator!

Finish my rewrite. Four chapters to go. I can do this.

Hi! I'm new. One of the reasons that I joined AW was that I saw there was a monthly goal thread, so I'm looking forward to my first month!

My September goals:
1. Write 750 words each day (at 750words.com)
2. Finish the initial exploration of my nonfiction book idea reach the point where I'm ready to make a decision to commit to it or give it up
3. Develop my characters for NaNoWriMo

Well, while the latest novel draft cools off (Revision start date: Oct. 4), I will declare September Short Story month! Squeezed a couple of flash fics into the end of August. Will aim for at least four more shorts by the end of September. And lots of research reading for the next novel.

My goals for September:

1. Finish final draft of my July marathon novel.
2. Write a play on the 24th that will be produced on the 25th for a celebration of the arts festival.

That is all. Nothing else for September.

Little1's ambitious, we'll give her that!

my goal is to blitz the agent world with my first mystery - and of course I hope to grab an agent!

next...I'd like to write at least 10-15k words in my current WIP. Now, although my OCD side says piece of cake, my realistic side says, wait a minute...I'd also like to edit my 3rd mystery.

so there you have it lol

Pretty basic. Revise/go through at least three chapters a week
Be a good Beta

My September goals:

1. 15K words on my Death Brings the Victory, or finish the first draft, whichever comes first
2. Submit two stories to magazines
3. Edit my story "Borders"

1. Calm down. It's been a very exciting week.

2. Take a week away from computer.

3. Get back into character notes for the next book, and re-start the background reading. But the end of Sept I'd like to have read all the texts on my desk, have enough of the two main characters strong enough in my mind that I can hear their voices at least intermittently, and have opened a file on the stories that they have lived through. No more than that - must remember that this book will go much more quickly if I don't rush at it before it's ready to be written.

And note to self - the humour thing is always the last part to come. Don't try to push it - it will be there somewhere. Let them discover it.

1. Finish WIP. I'm at 61k right now. Finished MS will be between 80-90k.
2. Begin rewrite of WIP. Draft 1 is really more like Draft 0, so I need to get this brain vomit into some sort of coherent order.
3. Finish reading "Boneshaker."

1. Query, query, query.
2. 10K on the WIP.
3. ...oh yeah, and get married.

1. Complete the setting
2. Write 5k words on the WIP
3. Breathe in London when you get there; make notes!
4. Pass the exam of clinical psychology

1. Sell my completed novella (on sub)
2. Finish my current novella
3. Ignore self doubt
4. Begin second draft of my urban fantasy/ paranormal short story

My September goals:

1) finish and submit the book
2) write and submit article
3) go on vacation

... in that order.

SEPTEMBER GOALS:
Reach 45,000 on "Numbered"
Reach 5,000 on new manuscript.
EDIT "Numbered"
Kick myself in the butt to get motivated
And have a AWESOME 24th Birthday WHOOHOOO

I'm gonna shoot for 1,000 words a day on my WIP. No, wait a minute, that's 30,000 words. What the heck, I'll do it. And build a real website.

2. Sell stuff

2. Make them GOOD words
3. Keep up with blogging, especially commenting on my favorite blogger's posts.

1.) Finish this draft of my book
2.) Write a decent 1st draft of a synopsis and/or query
