After a fairly short, but intense labor, we welcomed Parker Brian at 4:58 this morning. He arrived weighing 7lbs 6oz and measuring 21 inches long.
We took the girls to the park yesterday evening and I had a couple of sporadic, but intense contractions, which was not all that different than the last week. After we got home and got the girls settled, I noticed that I was having contractions semi-regularly. I took a shower and went to bed around 9:30. About 10:30, I climbed out of bed to time contractions because they wouldn't let me sleep. Around 12 or a little after, I woke up my husband and we made the phone calls, packed up the kids to take to my parents, and headed for the hospital.
By the time we arrived at the hospital, my contractions were two minutes apart and I was getting little relief between them, so I ended up opting for the epidural. I only ended up pushing for about twenty minutes before he arrived.
Other than being tired from no sleep, we are doing great! The little guy nurses like a champ and his sisters seem to like him. The 20 month old doesn't seem as sure as the 4 yr old, but she'll take to him soon enough, I imagine.
Now, for the important part: Pictures!
