If one wanted to catch an agent's eye (a reputible agent) would you suggest going to a writer's workshop?

I know of a number of writers who've attended workshops such as Clarion, Viable Paradise, and Odyssey, and still have not yet made a book sale. While I think a good workshop is definitely going to up your skills as a writer, I don't think it will make much of a difference to an agent. Listing a workshop in your letter may catch someone's eye, but a great pitch and a great manuscript is probably the most important thing. (However, this is only my opinion, and I could be wrong.)

I generally agree with that. If the workshop hones your skills, great, but what matters is the result, not that you went. George W. Bush want to Yale and Harvard. Look what the results! :)
