this really happened. driving along one day i saw a cat...and carried it to a grassy boulevard so that whoever he belonged to found him---there and not on the road. he was dead...but just. i thought they would be more grateful to find him lying on the grass. it was very sad...i immediately wrote this poem about it...driving away thinking about the loved ones who didn't know they were about to be very sad.
