I am not a ZOMBIE. I just feel like one.

My goal? -to reach 50,000 words at this year's Muskoka Novel Marathon

Marathon took place between Friday July 16th @ 8pm and Monday July 19th @ 8pm.

Final word count at the end of the weekend-- 52,441.

I made it!

BAZINGA!

Kevin, who feels that much closer to insanity.

Look for HALF DEAD AND FULLY BROKEN at zero bookstores near you! :)

I'm so happy for you! :)

It makes me want to say something like "YAHOOOOOO!!" but not that, exactly. I'm not sure what.

I'll get back to you.

You should marry thethinker42 and have little book-making machine robot babies from the future with pens for fingers.

Thanks, all!

Jen---I swear to God, when I picked (changed) the title at the final hour last night I didn't even think about that. (all weekend the working title was Half Dead...but with something one of the characters said near the end, the rest of the title emerged!)

But when I actually typed out the full title I went---wait a minute! that's me! (-:

Peachy...pens for fingers. I like that idea. those robots would be able to write multiple books at a time. nice. (-;

i didn't use numbers, i used letters. they did not bleed.

Ah, Zooey, always the hare-splitter. Poor Bessy was always picking wabbit parts out of the carpet, which was the true source of the stains thereupon.

Speaking of bunnies, I'm going to file bleeding numerals in the ideas hutch.

In the Castle, of course.
Holy crap, Batman!

Congratulations, Kevin! Amazing feat.

If I could do that in one weekend I could finish this dang book. I bow to your superiority at word count. :Hail:

I'm of a mind that quality and quantity are not mutually exclusive. Yes, I know. You're all shocked. I'm raising THAT subject again. Well, it's an appropriate thread for it.

My point being (yes I do have one) is that writing is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets. The more you write, the better you get. As long as you don't sprain anything and try to learn along the way of course. But writing is definitely a muscle.

well...i do feel like i do my best work when i'm writing marathon style. i'm actually beginning to feel like it's the only way i can write a novel. i'm infatuated with weekend novel writing! it's not mine to judge my work, though...just mine to say that it FEELS like my best work when i write this way.
