Now, about that Klingon thread...

Great idea. A mod should sticky this one. :)

:) You'll want to be careful about being so helpful, Xelebes. I hear that's how people find themselves press-ganged into the shock-collar and jackboots.

I enjoy making lists, what can I say?

07-14-2010, 10:02 AM
Thank you. :)

07-14-2010, 10:04 AM
So is this the place where we express the languages we can comprehend/communicate in, or am I just up way too freakin late?

07-14-2010, 10:19 AM
The list in the OP is the list of master threads for each language so that newbies entering this forum will know where to find the thread where they can speak their language. We're not supposed to actually just prattle off all the languages we can converse in. There is another older thread for that.

Some people are too clever for their own good.

I take it your keyboard doesn't do kanji?

I see you missed out "Colloquial G'day!" :D

Thanks Xelebes. Great idea!

So when does our new mod finally take over? :D

08-10-2010, 11:01 PM
No Croatian or Finnish? :( I watched Suulkasiipi on Youtube to learn some Finnish ;D

08-10-2010, 11:42 PM
I only track threads that are created, not making them myself.

08-11-2010, 10:13 AM
What about Creolese? :(

What about Creolese? :(

Ha ha ha, no good deed ever goes unpunished, Xelebes.

Include my vote of thanks for your handy listing of language threads begun, not every possible language.

I'd start one, but I'm probably the only person here who speaks Middle Egyptian.

You can teach me Middle Egyptian. :)

I can't guarantee I'll be a quick learner, but hey, if Egypt can produce Isis then its language is aces by me. :)

Cool idea.

07-14-2011, 12:50 AM
HA! I had added the Romanian thread before the rollback - I see Xelebes beat me to it this time. Thanks. :)

That'd be Serbo-Croatian, not Servo-Croatian :)

Though I don't think it's actually used in any country as an actual official language, but I guess it's shorter than listing every language separately. Heh.

A list. Yey!

Awww, no Indonesians here, yet? Bummer. Am I the first Indonesian? Really?

10-11-2012, 01:11 AM
Nope! I've updated the list with the thread for Indonesians (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242320)! :)

12-29-2012, 06:46 AM
Hi there! Can I take part too? Malay language (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261202) sure can be added in that list.

07-27-2013, 10:00 PM

Thanks. :)

What no Czech language thread? If anyone needs Czech (Bohemian/Moravian for historical references) I can help.

01-02-2014, 06:27 PM
What? No... that can't be! I'm sure you must have missed it!
