View Full Version : Heading Home Hits Home Run!

In a nutshell, Sheaf House has hired a very good publicist, Penney Carlton, and she's handling the launch of Heading Home on August 3rd and 4th in Nashville TN. This includes some TV appearances on the local Fox and CBS affiliates, as well as a party hosted by a pretty big promotional empresario there in town. I'm asking for prayer for this (of course), and also anyone who feels so moved, to please "like" the Heading Home page she's placed on Facebook.

Thanks so much, guys!

May you go through several printings, John!

From your mouth to God's ear, Lilly! :D

And here's something else that's cool. A guy I don't even know must have liked my Heading Home FB page, because he talked about it on his own blog: http://spectralrealm.wordpress.com/2010/06/23/do-you-know-when-were-heading-home/

Guess the word's getting out! :D

Wow, that is awesome! How exciting!

I hope the promo thing will go very, very well. I'm told, though, that I won't be able to participate in the media things 'cause I'm not from Nashville. I guess they only want local authors. I will probably stand off to one side and think Chicago thoughts.

Thanks, guys!

If any of you in the Nashville, Tennesse area feel so moved, here's what Penney Carlton, Sheaf House's publicist extraordinaire, just put up on my Facebook page:

On Wednesday, August 4th at 7:00pm meet John Robinson in Nashville! Meet-n-Greet at 7 PM at Davis-Kidd Booksellers -2121 Green Hills Village Dr - Nashville, TN 37215! Stop by and meet John! Give-aways and special surprises!!

I'm kind of wondering what those surprises are myself! :D By next week she should have the full schedule for August 3rd and 4th nailed down for me (including the TV appearances), so I'll keep everyone in the loop.

And as Bartels and Jaymes used to say, "thank you for your support." :)

Heading Home releases tomorrow, and I covet your prayers. I've never undergone such spiritual warfare with any of my novels like I have with this one. Without sounding overly charismatic (which I am), many of the betas tell me there's an annointing on it, with the ending bringing some of them to tears. I don't know if it's annointed, maybe I'm too close to it, but the last few months especially have been grueling. So for those of you who feel so moved to send up a short prayer tomorrow (and for the Nashville launch and media stuff on Tuesday and Wednesday), I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Scored my copy at the Nashville signing and meet-and-greet. You were greatly missed but all understood why it didn't work out for you to come. HH got a lot of interest on its table. As its "table prize" we awarded a cool little digital clock. Not quite as girly-girl as the other titles on the table (candles, coffee/chocolate and scented soaps). I imagine you'll be glad of that...

Best wishes for mega success on the book. I'm looking forward to reading my full copy once I crawl out of the revision-pit.

Thanks so much, Deb!

And for those of you wondering, at work we had a huge project at we'd been doing some preliminary documentation on that ended up going live, and that swallowed me up for a few days.

And yes, the clock was a much better prize for us knuckle-dragging types! *G*

Congrats and I can relate. I went through three very grueling edits with my editor for my novel. So far I have talked personally(face to face) to about 150 people who have read it. Most cried multiply times, but also laughed... thats when I knew I had something special. So if you have people crying because they love it... then you did something very right!

Thanks, Andrew; I pray you're right. And I just got off the phone with my publicist: she's lining up even more stuff between now and October 8, and then the main launch is that weekend. I'm cranked!

For anyone who's bought a copy of Heading Home (and God bless you if you did!), could I please ask you to consider writing a review of it for Amazon? Or wherever? Doesn't have to be much, but I'm really curious as to what you think. And be as honest as you need to be. Thanks.

I'm nearly finished with it, John. I'll be posting a review on my blog, Amazon, CBD, Goodreads, and anywhere else you'd like me to.

Got another nice review today on Amazon for Heading Home (and no one's called me a heretic yet...which is a miracle! *G*). Keep 'em coming.
