.. or at least I think it was.
It was about:
* Human sized alien insects (which looked just like praying mantises)
* In human 'flesh' suits
* Infiltrating a city (replacing the mayor, etc)
The heroes were:
* A city archaeologist ?
* An entomologist who was working as a pest exterminator
* A retired astronaut ?
* A Vietnam vet who always carried a live hand grenade for no reason ?
Other bizarre scenes included the archaeologist's assistant falling down a crack that suddenly appeared in the middle of the city. The mayor insists that the crack be instantly filled with concrete. Nobody seemed bothered.
Despite the stupidity and bizarrely low budget, it actually had a good zero G scene in space (for no apparent reason) in the first few minutes.
It was such a different level of production value to the rest of the film (and no real connection) that I suspect they bought footage from an unrelated failed film.
Any clues? If someone could point me to the good zero G scenes on you-tube I'd be especially grateful ...
