Are there any specific questions the 911 operator would ask in this situation (kind of drug, visible effects, etc.)? Would they stay on the line until EMS arrived?

Thanks.

I worked 911 very briefly for my county.
The first questions were
"What is the address of your emergency?"
We would then verify the phone number and address with the caller.
Then we would ask what was the nature of the problem.
If they said drug overdose - we would ask if you knew what kind, how much, if they were alert and responsive and breathing, combative. Depending on what you answered - the questions with would determine if they stayed on the line.

If they were giving you CPR or other instructions, they would stay on the line. If not, then they would tell you to call back if anything changed.

Don't know how useful this is, but your question just reminded me of this Youtube vid.

Funny 911 call about a cop who steals marijuana, takes it home and bakes brownies with it then calls 911 for reasons explained in the video. This video includes a Fox News report about the incident and the full audio of the 911 call.

"I think we're dead because time is going by really, really slowly."

You can't write this stuff! No one would believe it!
