There once was a man from Verdun
who thought he could buy a gun
but he decided to have some fun
and make everbody weigh a tonne
whilke the sun
roasted his bun
Until there was no longer a man from Verdun

That was close! If this thread was a person it's would have called it's lawyer by now and been transfered to a private room.

History will remember me as the guy who made the first post to this immortal thread in September 2005.

and on.....and on & on....OH! and ON!

(Vanessa, I hope you family is well, still. The more I hear the more I am just brokenhearted about New Orleans. The situation seems to degrade with every moment.)

Although there's plenty room between family homes in Baton Rouge to accomodate them all, I thought that was a really nice offer. And I will always be appreciative of that.

I have been wishing I was not in the middle of moving...I have a large home here and would be so happy to help out. Our local school system has opened its doors to the children who are now homeless, so they can continue school here, but I have no idea what the plans are for housing. If I were staying in this house, I could at least offer temporary shelter and warm beds. It breaks my heart. It really does. I look at these 3 extra bedrooms...empty. Stocked fridge with things that will likely go to waste because there is only me here. And then I see those crying mothers with hungry children. It just breaks my heart. I am so sad that you family lost their homes, but I am thankful they are all well.
