Man accused of killing kitten after it pulled plug on his video game

21-year-old Staunton resident charged with misdemeanor, animal cruelty

By Brad Zinn/staff -- [email protected] -- June 2, 2010

STAUNTON — Police arrested a Staunton man late Monday night after he reportedly killed a kitten that interrupted his video game, according to an arrest report.

Bruce Jamar Walston, 21, of 128 College Circle, Apt. 1, is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty and disorderly conduct.

Staunton authorities were called to Walston's apartment at 9 p.m. after his girlfriend phoned 911. Police said Walston apparently became enraged when the woman's kitten disconnected his video game. Walston is accused of killing the kitten by hurling it against a wall.

"In front of her kids," said Officer Lisa Klein of the Staunton Police Department....

I'm kinda curious as to which game he was playing.

That special place in Hell - the one reserved for people who harm animals or kids - has just grown larger by one space.
Yeah, but let us get a hold of him first . . .

Just awful.

We throw controllers in my house, not kittens.

Nowhere. Now here.
Wow, I'm feeling like it might be a good idea for him not to have a console in the house. This is not boding well for his ability to teach the children that were present the difference between fantasy and reality.

I'm glad she called the police. I hope that the woman in question doesn't change her mind and forgive him. Anyone who do that to a animal will easily turn their anger on the children.

This has nothing to do with a console, or gaming. Its got everything to do with someone who has a rage problem.

No shit. Dude's got some serious anger management issues. I hope he gets court ordered therapy and the kids get some counselling. Damn good thing it wasn't one of the kids unplugging his game.

And sadly, there will be no significant punishment. :(

Poor kitty. Poor kids.

True, but i'm sure he is getting the appropriate Scarlet Letter planted on his forehead.

I mean, this made the news and everyone who knows him knows what he did and is no doubt giving him grief over it.

If I owned a restaurant and he sat down, i'd approach him and tell him in a loud voice so everyone could here that I do not serve Kitten Killers and that he should go somewhere else as I reserve the right not to serve assholes...

Anyways, things like this makes me wonder about the human race as a whole....

I hope she doesn't let him back in. If she did and he harmed one of her children, well... I don't know how I would live with that.

I also hope the kitten finds my Lister in catty heaven. He'll look after her.

What the guy did was horrible and I hope he gets put in a cell along with some giant biker that happens to love animals. But I have to wonder, considering his history, what the hell was this woman thinking dating him and letting him around her kids and cat?
