I'm not sure if anyone remembers me in here but I thought I'd pop my head in to blow my own horn a little because...

I've just been picked up to write a weekly column in a newspaper!

A real chronicle, in a real newspaper, with a real deadline every Monday afternoon. Cool. The Os is a happy little writer today. Shit, I should start working on something...

PS A big thanks to everyone on AW over the past five or so years since I signed up. I may not be the most active poster in here but I have certainly learned an enormous amount about this thing called writing and a few little things about how nice total strangers can be to one another too.

Yeah! I'm in a banning mood that's for sure. One of the best decisions ever taken on these boards was to never give me any form of responsibilty.

Thanks for the pats on the back everyone. In response to Maryn I actually went for an online blog-style gig and they proposed a column. This doesn't mean there might not be both so I'll give you the skinny when I know.

Met deadline. Editor said it looked good (which is about the most extreme adjective he uses).

Saw my column in print for the first time this morning! In real black and white on rag for the world to see. Cool. If I get hit by a bus today I will be marginally less pissed than before.
