...and because she just won (finally) the Nobel prize for literature, are you Doris Lessing? If not, what article of clothing are you?
Nope, not her. I don't expect to win a Nobel, though I've won many awards.

Are you going through a spelling crisis, Jeanne? Well-word fedora sounds like Hammett or Walter Winchell...

are you the It Girl - from the sixties?

Does anyone now how to play this game?

scrivener
10-15-2007, 02:20 PM
LOL, no in this game the "it" is like it in tag or hide and seek. This person selects someone famous, usually a writer, and the non-its have to guess who it is by asking metaphorical questions. And no, no one knows how to play this game. It is a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Welcome, John.

I am a notorious figure from history, no longer living except in legend.;)

Not the Marquis. I don't possess his...um...imagination.

scrivener

I am not Dracula. As for food (what a devious combination of questions!), I'd love a thick steak and any whiskey but preferably bourbon.

How would I know if I was Jack the Ripper? Nobody else does. No, on further reflection, I am not Jack.

Whoo hoo! Somehow, the hat clue gave it away to me (though I thought Ma Barker might have been the right one, too. :D)

Okay...erm, um...dangit...have to THINK now...LOL.

Okay, keeping with our "running out of authors we can come up with enough good clues for" theme, I'm a living musician.

I'm a bit confused. Is the actor (you) really dead as in deceased, gone, passed away or is he merely playing dead for the camera and will walk away after the shoot. Well, maybe not the best choice of words...

What is in an earl sandwich? Just kidding but I detect a rare pun among us.

Okay, dead or alive, who would you choose to write your biography?

Deep thoughts:
Hee, hee. I keep picturing Katharine Hepburn in tweeds and plus fours! Not that she couldn't have carried it off. I sure wouldn't have wanted her shotgun pointed in my direction, however. A deer stalker cap might not have been flattering although one always knew which direction Kate was going.

What animal? Well, in my first big role I would have been a very clever animal, perhaps a raccoon, otter or monkey and capable of astonishing ingenuity. My name would become a synonym for making many useful things out of surprising materials.
In my latest big hit show I would be either a tough, determined formidable grizzly bear or perhaps a wild stallion defending my herd against all comers, especially intelligent snakes from outer space returning to EArth.

Not Fred Astaire, he was in movies. Hmm. Ernest Hemingway, perhaps?

If not, when did you become a celebrity?

No I'm not Hemingway, or Fred Astair, believe it not I am 3 years younger than Fred. Although we were in the same era. I can't say when I became a celebrity, or famous for that matter it is not like one day you wake up and are famous.

However my first "commercial" success came in 1934 it was using one of many talents, and probably my trademark talent. I became more well known in the 1950's and in particularily 1960 with my trademark piece of work.

I have a very dry humor and here are some of quotes from me.

"Always make the audience suffer as much as possible"

"The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder"

"Some of our most exquisite murders have been domestic, performed with tenderness in simple, homey places like the kitchen table"

"There are several differences between a footballl game and a revolution. For one thing, a football game usually lasts longer and the participants wear uniforms. Also there are more injuries at a football game."

"There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it."

This paperback is very interesting, but I find it will never replace a hardcover book -- it makes a very poor doorstop."

"I understand the inventor of the bagpipes was inspired when he saw a man carrying an indignant, asthmatic pig under his arm. Unfortunately, the manmade sound never equalled the purity of the sound achieved by the pig."

I am not Nicole Kidman.
