It's not much, but it's more than I made writing in 2009. Or '08. Or '07. Hell, it's more than I've made writing in a week -- ever!

I play a game on Facebook called "Kingdoms of Camelot" and decided to write a guide on how to be a good player. I wrote to the company and informed them of my intent, they responded, and while they did not give me their blessing, they also did not forbid me from writing such materials, and so I proceeded, in the slimmest of legal hopes that they won't come back later with a cease and desist. (Time will tell if I'm on the "brilliant" or "dumbassed" side of daring here).

Anyway. The book's sold 50 copies, and I've grossed over $500 in the last week. I've spent about $300 in advertising, paypal fees, and printing fees (for the few people who've asked for a printed version of the book) -- but that other money's pure profit, baby! (well, until I declare the income and lose a third to the feds and another 10% to the state, but you know. It's good money!)

Anyway, it's a simple site, but it does the trick:

writewritingwritten.com/kocd

And because it's such a small niche market... no competition for the google adwords. I'm the *only* advertiser for my selected keywords!

Congratulations!

In addition to taxes, you may want to put aside some of that income for an attorney, just in case. :)

I'm going to find an intellectual property rights lawyer who works pro bono.

LOL, and here I've been giving away my tips on how to get Diablo-II-rich making a Berserker Barb early in a ladder. Or late, actually. A Berserker can make bucks at ANY time during a ladder!!!

Send $$$ now.

:D

CGs! You're doing well to go over the break-even point, and niche markets are definitely the best SP bet.

Well, it's not like I'd want one who didn't like U2.

Congrats! I don't know anything about legality issues, but there are a million freaking books that talk *about* Twilight or Harry Potter or they are *unofficial* guides, and what not, and people are making money off them..
