The voice of the Detroit Tigers, dead at 92.

What a pleasure it was to listen to him call a game. And I had no idea he'd done so many other things as well.

As a Tigers' fan, I will forever remember Ernie as the voice of the Tigers. He'll be missed.

Absolutely great announcer. Joins that regrettable list of the great baseball announcers who have left us in recent years, Harry Caray, Jack Buck, Harry Kalas, Skip Caray . . . The newer ones are competent, but I don't catch much personality, not like these guys.
