Thanks, everyone!

And Suzan AKA Susie puts in hard work and touching cat stories. Her cat love is obvious.

Thanks so much for all the submissions! I am loving every minute of going through them and hate having to say no to any of them.

I looked and I'm sure it's there somewhere and I missed it, but will Hazard Cat accept reprints?

From the Hazard Cat submissions page:

We can now pay our contributors more. We pay 1/2 cent per word for short stories, essays, and personal stories that are accepted for publication. We pay $5 for poetry and art. We place your work on the blog and buy first publishing rights. We also take reprints. If you want us to take your work down, we will do so at any time. Very Important: Hazard Cat only pays through PayPal. (Emphasis mine.)

It is customary to alert a publisher that your offering would be a reprint when you submit, so include this information with your query.

The submission of mine that they accepted was a reprint.

Hazard Cat will be posting my story "The Lost Souls of Cats". :)

Your story made me cry. Maybe I'll find my lost cats someday. :)

My cat Katrina (technically, my mom and stepfather's cat) is featured on the Hazard Cat blog today.

Maybe she'll be discovered and start earning her keep.

LOL.

A pic of me at the cat sanctuary where I volunteer is on the Hazard Cat site today. Lisa also sent me an acceptance for a poem, Defenseless, I submitted yesterday (quick turnaround!), but it will be published at a later date.

Oh bum: I finally got around to writing a lovely little cat short story (first fiction writing since February) and now they're closed to new submissions. Can't wait for submissions to open again - I love this piece.

Same here. Wish I'd read this post a few weeks ago.

I'm so happy you're all enjoying the site (and I love the cat smiley!) Hazard Cat is closed to submissions right now so I can catch up on all the great submissions I've had this summer. I had to drop down to three posts a week because of a job change, but hopefully by mid-fall I'll be up to at least five posts a week and the yarn ball will be fully rolling again.

I appreciate all the support. Thanks!

Lisa

Hi, Lisa, hope you like your new job and that's so cute, 'yarn ball.' Looking forward to seeing my two poems up on your site sometime...
