I keep trying to place a damn poem that is not going to be placed anywhere!
But that's the mildly bad news. The good news? Every time I try to place it, I submit something else with it. Well...guess what. The something else keeps getting accepted!
I am having more acceptances and publications (in the fiction/poetry markets) than I have had for quite a while!
Today - My poem about the Masai people of Kenya (Masai Adumu at Keekorok) was accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of Message in a Bottle!
Yesterday - Blue Skies Poetry accepted my poem Miramichi Remembered.
Today - The previously mentioned acceptance of three poems with the Newfoundland university journal, Paragon, has come to fruition. Paragon3 is having a launch party tonight in Newfoundland. My poems, ‘Newfoundland,' 'Queen Street Turnaround,' and 'You of Two Spirits' are all in the issue.
Yesterday - I found out that the Muskoka Novel Marathon people are putting together an anthology celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Muskoka Novel Marathon. They asked to publish a piece of one of my winning novels. They will be publishing Chapter 1 of Sebastian's Poet.
In the very near future - The Wicked Words anthology will soon be released. This is from a writing contest. The top 10 winners are all being published. My experimental horror story piece, Rabacheeko, will be in the anthology. It will be available sometime this month. (This piece was inspired by Trish's nightmare, as shared here at AW!)
I'm pretty excited. Everything seems to be happening at once. And the poetry...all in an attempt to get a certain poem published that keeps being left out of the acceptance. Haha! I will get it there yet!
Anyway...that's my rain for today! (-;
