Hi, all

I am looking for alternate names from world mythology/religion for Nimrod, the King of Babylon. For obvious reasons, I prefer not to name the character I wish to base on this mythological king Nimrod. He's supposed to be a serious character, and in today's culture, nobody will take a character named Nimrod seriously.

I'm having a hard time finding out whether other names exist in any sources for Nimrod. If not, what are some characters from world mythology and tradition that are similar to Nimrod? Google is not helping me all that much in this regard, and I need to find some jumping-off points to do further research.

(If all else fails, I'll just leave this character unnamed and identify him only by his species. ;) )

The Greek version of his name transliterates to Nebrod in medieval texts.

There are those scholars who insist that Nimrod’s characters it’s the same with Gilgamesh.
