This may seem a naive question to someone knowledgeable in these matters but I need to ask:
Were any pre-Columbian Native American cultures (beside the U'wa of northeast Columbia and the Tafi of the Tucuman Province) known to erect menhirs of any kind, or were menhirs mainly used in European prehistoric cultures? Did the Woodland Indian cultures ever use them, or did they only build mounds? Any help appreciated.
