26 is a ripe old age for a thoroughbred, Komnena. She had a good life.

I remember being skeptical of the announcers playing her up until I saw her. Then I knew I was looking at a very special horse. I have no doubt she knew she was a queen. I've never forgotten her coiled stillness or that magnificent charge down the stretch.
