I used to get my fingers caught in between the keys of my very first typewriter (which, incidentally, is the longest word in the English language using only letters from the top row).

Damn you, split-level keyboards - damn you to Hades!

Left to right pushes the barrel to the start position. I read this and was like, "But she went right to left" then realized I was looking at her lol

I even remember typewriters with no !s.

I had to type an apostrophe, backspace and add a full stop.
