I'm just a housewife, so I don't know anything about press releases and Google News. All I know is there's a whole list of links about it on Google, Twitter and Bing, and now Twilight Lexicon posted a
response to the article on their site. Why go through all the trouble if she's that insignificant? I mean, you guys had pretty long threads devoted to her last time I checked. I'm just saying. Why make such a big deal over a crazy fanfic writer? Wouldn't it be better to just ignore her ravings? Just my humble opinion.
You know--my post wasn't directed at you in any way, shape or form. Just so you know. This one, however, is.
The thread you refer to about this nonsense was a thread about the legal ramifications of copyright infringement and intellectual property theft when fan fiction tries to take a step further--as you would know if you had read the thread.
For the most part, I do ignore her and her ravings and all the bullshit attributed (by her) to this great work she's created after stealing someone else's intellectual property.
Now then--I find it interesting that you don't know anything about Google and press releases, and then instantly turn around and tell us--
All I know is there's a whole list of links about it on Google, Twitter and Bing, and now Twilight Lexicon posted a
response to the article on their site.
Doesn't compute, you know? You don't know anything about Google but you use Google? Nope--doesn't add up. Even "Just a Housewife" can do basic mathematics. It also doesn't compute that you would say this:
Why make such a big deal over a crazy fanfic writer? Wouldn't it be better to just ignore her ravings? Just my humble opinion
--when you're the one that started the thread. In case you hadn't noticed, there wasn't any information about this horseshit news flash on this site until YOU posted it. Why is that, I wonder? Could it be that we were ignoring her? Not making a big deal? Relegating her to the cesspool of the arts where plagiarists and poseurs are side by side with vanity publishers and scam agents?
Yeah.
So think of it this way: I, too, am "just a housewife" so I find the disparaging tone of that phrase more than a little annoying. I also happen to be "just a housewife" who was happily working on her contracted novel until a new poster starts a thread about a intellectual property thief's alleged movie deal. And when I saw the thread title, I assumed it was a practical joke--maybe an April Fools attempt in a different time zone. *shrug* I don't care. What I do care about is the fact that now this thread will turn up on that Google thing you know nothing about and will lend credibility to this bullshit rumor about a movie that doesn't exist and a "book" that Stephenie Meyer's lawyers have slapped a cease and desist order on and can't even be read.
See, even an ignorant, stupid, uneducated, clueless, and completely out of the loop "housewife" like myself knows that if ATTORNEYS HAVE STOPPED THE PUBLICATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE THEFT OF STEPHENIE MEYER'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, THERE'S NOT A MOVIE PRODUCER IN THE WORLD THAT WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO THINK, "OH WOW--THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE."
You don't have to have a PhD to have basic common sense. There are a lot of threads on AW about intellectual property theft. Maybe you should read some of thing and it might help you understand why we were talking about this IP thief in the first place.
Look--I can tell by your username that you're a fan of the Twilight books and that's a good thing. Just be careful attributing motivations to people you don't know and starting spats on your first day. Go introduce yourself and read the Newbie Guide and maybe you'll get a better understanding of exactly what it is we do here.
