Naming and Unnecessity

Gee I hadn't noticed. Curious.

I recommend a title of: *Holds up an egg* This is your brain. *Smash the egg into a skillet spattering shell and egg bits everywhere* This is your brain on philosophy.

Compared to what is it unchanged?

Compared to what it isn't, I'd say it's highly changed, unrecognisable even. If it was ever like the thing that it never was, it's certainly not now. You mightn't have been here early enough to see how it wasn't before, but take it from me, you couldn't even compare it.

But perhaps you don't mean unchanged. Perhaps you mean change-resistant. Which, like so many of us, I suppose it is. It certainly hasn't changed as much as it might, but that's not to say that it won't as it may. And can one really ask more than that?

Frankly, given all it's been through, to still be as it is, is itself pretty remarkable. It's easy to look a gift-horse in the mouth when you know it's not a crocodile. Credit where it's due, eh?
