I'm trying to compile a list of games where people have one or more digital pets, and people's opinions on the qualities of the different games. But I discovered that the gamers site I usually hang out at is all hardcore gamers and most have never played a pet game in their life, lol.

Personally, I've played:
NeoPets
Creatures
Pokemon
Monster Rancher
Azure Dreams
Eternal Eyes
Monsterseed (bleh)
NintenDogs
101 Kitty Pets (lame!)
Desktop Goldfish (I forget the actual title)
Sims
WoW pet-user class
Perfect World pet-user class
Dofus mount breeder and summoner class

So have you all played any pet games I didn't list, and what did you think of them?

wizard101 has a new advanced pets system (http://worthplaying.com/article/2010/3/24/news/73247/) on the way.

Can someone please tell me the point of NintenDogs? I bought it, have played it and don't get it. I'm just walking my boxer, CoCo, around the neighborhood, bathing her, throwing her Frisbee, etc. and getting griped at by pop-ups for not doing things right. Does it ever change?

And why did the forty-something salesman at Target tell me that he would play this all the time if he had it?

you'll eventually get fewer pop ups if you start doing more things right.

but, no, nintendogs is basically centered on raising a virtual dogs.

Viva Pinata is a surprisingly fun title for the Xbox 360.

Thank you, Sir. Good to know.

I haven' played it myself, but Digimon World for the DS is supposedly pretty fun.

There was a pets game for Dreamcast that I bought. It had an arena where you would go to fight your pets. It was actually awful, but the minigames for the VMU were fun. In fact, I'd wager the VMU games were designed thoroughly and they only completed the main game to tie them together.

I've done a lot of searching since this thread was posted but I have yet to come up with the name of the game. I've long since traded that stinker in to Electronics Boutique, so digging in my Dreamcast box would be no help...
