He was a great actor, starring in a couple of classic original Outer Limits episodes, and of course in the long-running hit TV series I Spy with his co-star, an up-and-coming young man named Bill Cosby.

In the eighties Culp again found fame as a suspicious government agent on The Greatest American Hero ("believe it or not, I'm walkin' on air...").

Even in his most serious roles the man seemed to be having a blast.

He'll be missed.

I saw him do Shylock, and it was pretty damn fine.

He will be missed.

Aw, he was a fixture for those of us who grew up in the 1960s and 1970s. Why, oh why, couldn't it have been Robert Wagner who went? :)

I always liked his acting.

I also liked him until I read an article (with photos) that he insisted his girlfriend's waist remained 18" (or some such impossible measurement). He had a gold chain made that was fitted around her waist and there was a picture of it in the magazine (can't remember the date, but I'm an old cat). I guess he didn't love HER as much as her body.
