Is there a site that you can see what the weather was like somewhere?

I want to include what the weather was like during the Fourth of July weekend in NYC in 1999. I didn't know if there was a place that has that information.

NOAA's website has it: http://data.nssl.noaa.gov/

It's a little awkward to use however. You could Google for "historical weather data" and see if there's an easier-to-use website.

Libraries which carry newspapers, or have them on storage media in some form, nearly always have at least one New York paper.

Maryn, whose library does

Local papers are a good source. You can check them out at the library.

Or you can contact the Met Office who keep records of that sort of thing.

thank you, guys. :)

I went to that site and it totally confused me. Talking about stations or whatnots. I think I may call up my library and see if they can come up with something.

Beautiful, Stormie! :)

That article had the picture of a guy wearing an umbrella hat while at the park in NYC. It also says 102* by late afternoon. I don't even really need to mention the actual temp, but just that the city is gripped by a heatwave. And that article proves that it was so.

Thank you, Stormie.

You can also find out actual data on www.weatherunderground.com. I use it all the time for exactly what you're talking about (including sunrise/sunset, etc.). You just type in the zipcode of the place you want, then go down to their weather archives section and you will get the temps/rainfall/etc. for your day/month/year or whatever you want to see. As long as there was a record of it, they've got it. (I love that site--can you tell?)
