Peachum's Morning Hymn from the Threepenny Opera.

You ramshackle Christian awake!
Get on with your sinful employment
Show what a good crook you could make.
The Lord will cut short your enjoyment.
Betray your own brother, you rogue
And sell your old woman, you rat.
You think the Lord God's just a joke?
He'll give you His Judgement on that.

Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton

"In 1814, we took a little trip, along with Col. Jackson down the might Mississip. We took a little bacon and we took a little beans..."

Haha! Awesome song. My Dad used to listen to Johnny Horton all the time. And passed his love on down to moi. :) Nothing like old time music, huh?

I've actually had the darned theme song from Disney's Gummi Bears Series running through my head for weeks now. My kids and I got to talking one day and I had to find some episodes for them to see cause they just wouldn't let it go. They watched an entire season in two days. (Snow days). And now...

"Gummi bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere. High adventures that's beyond compare, they are the gummi bears."

It's very childish of me, yes I know, but I have one of the songs from Phineas and Ferb stuck in my head. That, and Second Chance by Shinedown.

Oh, gee, thanks witty. I was trying to think of that one band that I know Jenn would "get" and it was right on the tip of my tongue, but then I saw your post, and remembered this other band from my local scene back in the day. They were good, and had the biggest draw in town, but then their singer quit. They found another, and after a couple months were ready to play the clubs again.

Their show sold out, and we were all waiting to see the "new direction" we had heard so much about. But when the stage was lit, they appeared in these ridiculous dayglow outfits. They launched into a silly, bouncy tune, like a nursery rhyme. Then their new singer bounded out, dancing around like Richard Simmons, singing "There's a party in my pants."

Now THAT is stuck in my head.

"Hai-da, hai-diddy-hai-dah, hai-da! Hai-da, hai-da!"

It's a round we used during our physical warm-up on a retreat last weekend and it's been running around my head ever since.

Lol I don't remember what it's called. It's the episode where Phineas and Ferb start a band to make a one hit wonder.

Now on my mind: "Star" by Hellyeah.

You may ask yourself
How do I work this?
You may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
You may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
You may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground

Same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...

The DJ in the bar I was in last night mentioned it (but didn't play it) and now I can't get it out of my head.

Ach! Thanks alot! I tried reading thru the rest of the thread, hoping to be diverted by some other ditty, but..."awkward teenage blues"...keeps ringing in my head.

I thought I could drink it away, but now all I hear is "turn the page..."
