Yes, I believe that was the surprise...

Thanks for the link, Terza. I'm in the process (I think) of inheriting the family archives from my dad. I should take the time to go through them and see exactly what I've got--I know my grandfather did make home movies, and my father is seldom without his camera. (Ditto his son-in-law and granddaughter...)

Beautiful!

Editorial footnote: Mary's family seems to have had some serious money. That was most likely the family's summer home by the shore. Their fulltime home was probably something of real substance.

.

Beautiful and moving...and love the blog. Will be a future haunt of mine. TFS!

But, to the editorial note: No kidding. There are barely any pictures of any of my relatives on either side during a similar time frame--let alone movies. I come from a long line of Po Folk...

Well, actually, that's not entirely true...seems like I really come from a long line of people who were disowned and disinherited and therefore became Po Folk...

But, srsly, Mary's fam was clearly loaded. Looks like she led a blessed life with good friends and family. We should all be so lucky :)
