Yep, that's the question...

I only listed the 3 most popular listed from the Girl Scouts website. Also, in other parts of the world they may have different names.

I don't know what's the favorite, but I do know that little brown-eyed girls selling cookies can turn grown men into mush (yes, me too; her name is Sarah G.). They should be selling Toyotas or furniture! :-)

All time favorite is thin mints, but I've eaten my quota over the years. Now my favorites are peanut/oatmeal sandwiches, and lemonade cookies.

I didn't buy any this year - I missed all my usual suppliers.

Thin mints are made with crack. Those Girl Scouts looks so sweet and innocent, but they're all playas and thugs.

Samoas. Definitely Samoas. Or as my husband calls them...Samoans. LOL Which I've tried to explain to him aren't nearly as tasty crumbled over ice cream. :)

my favorite are samoas but I can eat an entire box of almost any of them in one sitting.

Once I get the taste for one, I can't stop...

It's a tie for me between the tagalongs and the peanut butter sandwich cookies.

Thin mints are my all-time favorite, but tagalongs are pretty close behind! Yum, now I want some.

Ah, for me it's Tagalongs! Love em, love em, LOVE EM!

It just makes me mad how they keep upping the prices, decreasing the amount of cookies per box and how very little the girl scout troops who sell them get of the profits. When I was the cookie mom for my daughter's troop they made .33 cents out of every $3.50 cent box they sold.

At least the boy scouts get more money from their popcorn sales.

My kinda thread, Cella. Don't they still have the oreo-like cookies? Love those.

OMG Samoas. I had forgotten the name. I hate you for this thread :D ;)

I would be a Girl Scout again just for guaranteed access to the cookies. Year after year I miss the ordering time because I can't keep up with which niece is in it and which one isn't.

Plus, maybe they'd let me finish some of those merit badges.

(funny derail: I once went on a Boy Scout camping trio with my brother and dad--which is when I got lost in the mountains looking for a bathroom --and they gave me an honorary merit badge. Really, I think they just had an extra one they didn't feel like finding a place for, but I loved it anyway. :D)

All the above!

I make a thinmintsamoapeanutbutter sandwich cookie. I refrain from eating the girl scout though.

They're much too cute.

And they have way too much energy.

... quit eating junk, but I do buy a box when the neighborhood GSer's come about each year. The GSA is a good organization for youngsters to be involved in and I'm happy to support it. As to the cookies it's a simple matter to chuck them in the trash when they arrive or bring them to work when I'm working a temp gig.

My sister-in-law makes homemade Tagalongs using vanilla wafers that she smears with peanut butter and then dips in melted chocolate. Delicious! Just like the real thing.

In other parts of the world they also actually offer different cookies. I prefer a large plain shortbread-style cookies they sold in New Zealand.

I'm happy that the coconut ones are in the lead. Coconut gets a lot of guff from those who don't like it, so those of us who do need to take every opportunity to stick up for it.

Ken, Ken, Ken. You gotta put them in a boat and send them downstream to me. Esp. the Thin Mints. Oh, and make sure you pack them in ice. Sooo good!

The Thin Mints are the ones that are specifically associated with GS. Sure, you can get peanut butter and other cookies elsewhere, but the Thin Mint advantage is that GS does them better than anyone else, so they're a cookies that people actually favor and seek out. Mmmmm.

If the boat breaks apart in the ocean, let those employees fend for themselves (of course, being humane, have them wear lifejackets :D ). Just pack those Thin Mints into a floatable cooler, with my name on it.

No, I can't pick a favorite. Thin Mints and Samoas are both heavenly. Those lemon chalet cremes (cinnamon cookies with lemon filling) are amazing too.

Trefoils for me, with thin mints a close second. I'm very lucky here. My grocery allows the GS to sell them by the entrance to the store. Second lucky thing, several of the GS troops at my store will send them to the military troops. I'm allowed three good deeds for the price of one: I support the GS, the military guys/girls get a taste of home, I don't eat the cookies.

one year my troop did this, where we sold the cookies in the foyer of the super market. We sold a lot but man was it cold!

and I'm double bummed. I didn't get my cookies today like I'd been planning on:( I'd been planning my meals around them for this entire next week.

And just to play it safe I'll get the thin mints insured ;-)

it's pretty clear that the people above me in this thread are girl scout cookie eating hacks!

pffft. weekenders,..i'm embarrassed for you.

the do-si-dos, aka the peanut butter sammich cookie is the superior cookie.
on this there can be no debate.

:D

unless you disagree, in which case you can state you objections as you see fit.

I'm here to deliver the Tagalong vote for New Jersey. Pretty much all the precincts have checked in, and stuff, so you can add like 12 million votes for Tagalongs.

That should just about do it, I think.

I'd been getting whatever lemon cookies they've been having, which seem to vary year by year according to location. One year it was lemon shortbread with frosting on the bottom, the next it was sandwich cookies. This year? I no can haz cookeez. :(

Lemonades! It's relatively new and the most absolutely fantastic cookie. :D I adore them. Second runner up would be tagalongs.

I don't like thin mints or samoas. I don't like mint and chocolate together, and coconuts a no go for me. ;) Yeah, I'm weird.

You are asking because you plan to send me cookies, right?
