View Full Version : Is Writers Literary Agency legit?

02-19-2010, 05:47 AM
I am pretty new to writing and have just completed my first collection of poetry and short stories. I have just sent some of my work to the Writers Literary Agency and the Poets Literary Agency for review. They have responded favorably and feel that my work is sellable. Are these agencies and their sister company Strategic Publishing & Eloquent Books reputable? Has anyone worked with them and if so were they successful in getting your book successfully published?

Unfortunately no, they are not.

They have their own section on AW: http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=202

But don't lose hope. Keep querying and research the agencies on AW and Preditors and Editors.

I almost signed on with these guys. In short, don't do it. They are not a legitimate agency and they are not in it for the good of your book. Sorry to disappoint you, but that is the truth.

Thank goodness you've both dodged the bullet, huh?
