If this has been done, apologies.
My two favourites so far are from

flyingtart
"Before you judge your neighbour, walk in their shoes for a mile.
That way, you have a mile head start and you have their shoes."
(paraphrased)
and

alleycat
"Writing is like prostitution. First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money." - Moliere

Sorry have to go to bed after posting but i do.

I like both of those too. The first one is a Frieda Norris quote.

"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Now, when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and have their shoes. "

"I never said, 'I could write.' I said, 'I could, right?'."

I forget where I saw that

I'm kinda partial to the story quote: "I haven't murdered anyone since the day we met, sir."

But, that's just my opinion. :D

I loved that banner Brutal Mustang had for quite awhile with several inspirational quotes and images to go with them.

I like Som1luvsmi's sig---it's just cute/funny: :)

Assassin Kitteh is nobody's pet. She is a wanderer. She goes where good folks need her help. (Or where the optimal amount of mayhem can be produced.)
Do not weep for Assassin Kitteh. She rides alone...because she must.

I've told you . . . stop thinking about my private area! It just isn't going to work between us; I'm too tall for you.

I had never realized how many people have quotes in their sig lines. Just read through a bunch.

This is a nice one (posted by Jersey Chick):

"I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of stars makes me dream." ~ Vincent van Gogh

LOL and here I thought it was one of those you had to be there moments.

I have to say I like Cyia's signature. But I do miss the little ditty about the marshmallow peep. :(

I have gone to find myself. Should I come in before I return, please keep me here until I get back.

... turned off display signature spaces many moons ago. I still recall a few member's, though. One that stands out is Ol' Fashioned Girl's. She has a link to a charity organization that helps people set up businesses in poor countries around the world. Pretty cool, imo.

The picture isn't the highlight in Rowan's sig line to me. It is this quote:

"Love will find a way through paths where wolves fear to prey." - Lord Byron

Thank you... I love Lord Byron. :)

I remember one that said "There is a word for people who think the beliefs of a character in a novel are those of the author. That word is "Moron"

Something like that.

What about maestrowork's: "I didn't want to work. It was as simple as that...I thought it was a terrible nuisance mankind had invented for itself" or words to that effect, by Agatha Christie. That one sticks with me for various personal reasons.

Yep, that's definitely one of my favs.
Wonder who its from, hopefully a novelist.

The witty/ profound one (two) liner: It really is the mark of a great essayist/writer.

Oscar Wilde of course being the king...
