we're going to a commercial party because we were invited, and frankly we don't get too many invites, so.... ya know. We'll go :D

I think cray is still sleeping, but ScarletPeaches is around here, somewhere.

I wonder if the two "What's a Superbowl?" votes are from British people? :D

No, they just wear skirts.

I haven't been to a Super Bowl party in forever. I don't host them, either.

Unless the Giants are in it, I watch for commercial purposes only. :D

I'm the only person on the planet who DIDN'T see Janet Jackson's boob a few years ago (I muted the tv at halftime to work on a manuscript. Missed the whole damn fracas.)

At least one of them is.

No, they just wear skirts.

I see your point. (Nice skirt).

We're having a superbowl party--my partner loves football and she loves to cook for our friends. Nacho bar and a variety of delicious sliders. Nom nom nom. I couldn't care less about the game, but it will be nice to see my friends. We're only going to have 10 people over. Luckily my friend J. also hates football and loves nerdery, so we can entertain each other while the big men in the tv are running into each other at high speeds.

We're having a little party for the superbowl, but I'm not sure if it'll happen with all the snow we're supposed to get between Friday and Saturday.

We're having an unsuperbowl party as both me and my wife hate football. All the snacks and drinks, but a bad movie marathon instead of sports.

We're supposed to have a Superbowl party, but our guests are coming from six hours away and the weather looks like it's not going too cooperate.

Very much boo.

We'll still have family fun and hopefully it won't be so bad that our closer friends can't make it, but we'll see.

Merging this one with that one.

(I've done that before, started two identical threads, actually three, when I meant to post only one with a poll. Still can't figure out how I did that...) :)

Maybe the same reason you're on Anheuser Busch's Christmas card list. :D

That, and I think I was too impatient for the poll to appear and kept submitting the same thread over and over. I caught all kinds of flak from members over that flub and haven't created another poll since!

Based on all the news articles, only two players matter. Maybe they should cancel the game and just have a Manning vs. Brees dance-off.

I'm editing until the Super Bowl starts, but when game time rolls around it's going to be COLTS ALL THE WAY, BABY!!!!

My man, Peyton!

On a totally unrelated note, is anyone else getting completely pissed off at the commercial with Tim Tebow's mother's anti-abortion message? I knew it was coming; I thought they'd only play it once--not six times by 3 pm.

For pete's sake, this is Football Day, not a church rally! Pass the nachos.

*goes back to editing, muttering about the hypocrisy of network television and devoutly hoping that the Colts win by fifty*

Oh God, Mr Rarri is staying up tonight to watch this. Me? I'm looking forward to having the bed to myself while he attempts to make it til 4am.

(Despite the Other Half watching this, i still don't understand the fuss. But it's football, right?)

We're trying to watch an online stream. Our internet speed = sucks. But the Boy is happy, so that's what matters, I guess.

I wouldn't have come here, but it turns out someone I'm following on Twitter is tweeting every play. I could 33 tweets so far (in the middle was Mac's tweet of the video of the XRCD Discovery Channel comic, a welcome relief). I'm really tempted to tweet back something about Tweeting While Watching The Game: How do you tweet while watching, eating popcorn, and holding the hand of whoever else is eating popcorn with you?

Yeah, I already heard every commercial explicitly described on NPR's "All Things Considered."

We're supposed to have a Superbowl party, but our guests are coming from six hours away and the weather looks like it's not going too cooperate.

Very much boo.

We'll still have family fun and hopefully it won't be so bad that our closer friends can't make it, but we'll see.
I''d love to be there, but I'm more interested in seeing the pre-dawn Shuttle launch, if the weather holds out this time. If I start driving now I might make it in time (with a full tank of gas and one of those special NASA diapers), or at least I'd see a bright light going up while I drove down the road. But it's an awful long drive to see something that might not happen for any one of a myriad of reasons.

Oh, and I saw breadbox in the poll. How do you make bread? First you start with some deaux, ...

Deaux, a deer, a female deer.

Okay, so I'm not driving to Florida. I'll be here all night, folks. I'm sure you wanted to hear that.

I just tried to tweet, and now I see why I don't see any more tweets from that other twit(terer): "Internal Server Error." Yes, even the Internet needs to flush.

Okay, it's working now, and I couldn't resist. Click my siggie for the tweet.

I just have to say that the absolute classlessness of some football "fans" on the ESPN boards and Facebook is more revolting than three day old puke.

Now excuse me. I'm packing up the car. I'm going to Mardi Gras--and I bet the Saints don't do any of that Disneyworld crap.

Springsteen was better. :)

We watched most of the Puppy Bowl then turned to the halftime show--my husband is a big Who fan--before finally settling in during the last quarter.

I did. I think they should make a graceful exit from the stage. After a while, the 'angry young men' act doesn't work. They're the 'rich, content old men' now.
