Other than books, I mean!

I'm a neat freak and have basically nothing, but hubby is Mr. Clutter, and his make for a more interesting view than mine:

The legs and face on the top left belong to a Rogue Trooper model I bought him as a surprise birthday present when we first met. The rock is apparently from the Berlin wall.

What about you? :)

Ooh, book porn!

*drools*

I just have my GHDs sitting on the top shelf of my living room bookcase and that's it.

So...straighteners. Nothing else.

Nice collection!

*drools*

My shelf is pretty bare. Books I am reading are stacked on my nightstand, then I send them out to friends - - never to return again.

The books I don't need on a regular basis got boxed up, to make room for the spiders. But there are also challenge coins, patches, fossils, and other trinkets on the shelves.

Books, except in the "play" room (they have some toys in there but it's mostly arts, crafts, puzzles, and academic stuff) I have set up for the kids. In which case, here's the list: math manipulatives (counters, relational geosolids, TI sci-calculator, white boards/markers, tangrams) , electronic bits n' pieces for science experiments, maps, a model human torso affectionately named "Gut-Guy", beakers, stethascope, and a hodge-podge of other things sit on the shelves with the books.

A VCR, a DVD player, an Xbox, a TV and a bunch of cables and disks. Oh, there are a few books on the bottom shelf too. :D

Books on shelves? What a radical idea.

I have model horses on shelves. Books are everywhere else.

Multitude of flashing electronic devices, none of which I can name. Rubberband ball. Zebra stripe paper clips in nifty container. Three stacks of spiral notebooks. Soup can pen holder painted by my daughter. Two reams of printer paper. LOTR bookends...with books in between them. Marble scultpure of hollow woman. Gum, unchewed. Three pairs of trauma sheers. Glass paperweight. Glass kaleidoscope. Children's plaster hand prints. Pretty coffee mug, too nice to actually use.

The occupation of my bookcases has changed as our son has moved through the stages of toddlerhood. At the moment, one bookcase has an unfinished canvas painting on the top shelf, along with a box of love letters and notes i gave my husband; our toddler's bookcase has a beautiful picture of him and his uncle on top of the books, waiting to be hung up; the big bookcases downstairs are home to a microwaveable dinosaur called George, more paintings, external harddrives, a bottle of whisky, lots of unorganised photos, nappies, CDs, jewellery, a hideous number of unorganised bills i'm trying desperately to ignore, the other half's wrist splint, wooden roses, a candle in a teapot, a horseshoe and some things that i wont mention in polite company.

Good God, i need to tidy up this place.

Books, with more books piled on top to the same height again as the bookcase and another pile of books on the floor next to it...

I need more shelves!

All my little thingys go on the computer desk

as you can see...( the eagle-eyed among you will also be able to tell I am NOT a domestic goddess, although most of teh papery things are actually my husbands. And yes that is a beer fridge)

Oh my God. For a minute there, I thought you had invaded my office. Then I realized that I don't see four empty coffee cups, and your ashtray isn't overflowing. Amateur. ;)

Since my bookshelves are boring, here's a look at the disaster area that is the children's books...

Believe it or not, I cleaned this place out and had it in perfect oraganized order just a couple of weeks ago...

The grey case at the top under the algebra book is my oldest's microcomputing kit.

What I originally had in my bookcase:

And what I have in it now. The kittehs are relieved.

More knick knack things than books, and a basket of magazines. I have more books in boxes somewhere at my mom's house, I just don't know where they disappeared to. The painting above the stand was done by yours truly, and the reflection of the dragon painting in the first pic was done by me also. Oh heck with it, here's a good picture of it:

Great thread.... I have tons of books and of course a few statues (mostly howling wolves and a few wizards), birds, fairies, some glass bottles, pictures of family and/or dogs, friends...the odd candle, an athame, crystals, and jars of herbs! An entire shelf on one is devoted to horses---Epona stature and various horses and another holds my Lord of the Rings statuary. :)
