My debut novel just won first place behind the winner* in the annual Preditors and Editors poll for Science Fiction and Fantasy.

What's crazy about this is that someone nominated my book a full ten days into the contest. In just a handful of days, my loyal fanbase skyrocketed me past a bunch of other (well-deserving) novels.

Pretty cool way to herald in the sequel and start the new year!

Final results for my category can be found here: http://anotherealm.com/prededitors/votenovelsff09.htm

Congratulations to all winners and participants and a huge thanks to all who voted.

Congratulations!

I notice your book has also gotten a number of great reviews on Amazon. You can't always trust Amazon's reviews, but when you see that many with four and five star reviews it's generally a very good sign.

Yeah, I tend to trust the bloggers, reviewers, and what-not a bit more, but it's nice to see readers liked something enough to go through the trouble.

I think the best indication is that four of the bloggers that reviewed the book put it on their "best-of-2009" lists. :)

Thanks for the congrats, all.

Since the book has gotten so many good reviews, I'm going to ask that the Nashville Public Library order one or more copies (I checked, they don't already have it). I'm a member of the Nashville Library Foundation, a separate entity that provides backing for the library.

Congratulations again. It's always nice to see that someone's writing goals are being reached.
