View Full Version : Literary lion. Or who let the dogs out!

I was reading an obituary to J.D. Salinger today which said he was a 'literary lion.'

Now that got me thinking. What animal would reflect my writing abilities if I was to suddenly expire and have an obituary written about me?

There are endless possibilities. A literary elephant. No, hasn't got a ring to it. A literary giraffe perhaps because I like writing long stories. Nope!

I had to be honest I would be called a literary puppy because I am just learning the trade and always appear to be chasing my literary 'tale' around in circles.

What would you be?

Can I be a literary turtle?

I'd be a snail.

I'll be a literary hamster then.

Always running 'round in my wheel. A happy wheel, mind you. :D

I'd be a leopard: short fast bursts of activity followed by very long bursts of doing nothing.

I'm a literary shoggoth, sprouting protoplasmic MSS in all directions.

An old, silver-tip grizzly.

A feral cat: purring one moment, shredding your bowels the next.

A jackalope. Figure THAT one out...

I am a literary unicorn. At first glance you think I'm a plain ol' horse, but there's more than you realize.

I'm a literary bear. I like spending winter curled up inside, pounding out a story. Then in the warmer months I rouse, poke my head outside, and eat a lot of salmon.

I'm a cat. Some people love me, some people really really don't. I'll be lazy... unless something really catches my interest, of course. Like food. Or that catnip toy over there. <pounce>

A giraffe. Because, as everyone knows, they're fucking weird.

Ha!

(Uh, does that make me a copy-leopard?)

A sarcastic trilby-wearing raven who walks with a slight limp on its left leg when it's cold.

Prolly a badger.

Hehe, maybe! Although I was wondering if I meant cheetah. I should know my big cats a bit better than I do. Anyway, the fast one that gets puffed out quickly. :O)

I would be a literary ass, outweighed by rejection.
