While searching the daily finance, I found an article about Borders reportedly withhold payments to smaller publishers. Their payment schedule has gone frrom an average of 64 days to over 90 days. Some small publishers have now retained the same law firm that did a analysis of Borders for Bankruptcy proceedings, (If I read right).
So while Borders is holding payments back, does this mean the small publishers are allowed to withhold payments to their writer clients? This also brings to mind, that while Borders may go out of Business in the near future, this will also have a ripple effect on small publishers and their stable of writers.
