I ask cause I just had a bubble bath and it came to me... How would I read and not get the book wet?

Hold your hands out of the water as you lay back?

They actually make book holders for the bathtub too. I've never used one. I just keep my hands out of the water until I'm finished reading.

I did when I was younger, but now I rarely take baths--I'm a showerer--and when I do, it's about candles, bubbles or oils, and calming music, not reading. I can do that anywhere.

When I did read in the tub, I made a rule: No hardcovers, and no library books. I also kept a towel at hand, to dry damp fingertips before touching the book.

Maryn, whose tub is usually too scuzzy for enjoyment

Yes.

How do I keep it from getting wet? I don't drop it.

I only get the book wet when I drop it after I fall asleep. Something about baths just equals night-night to me. LOL

Now picturing Lucid on the crapper, wearing a smoking jacket, with a glass of wine in one hand and a ham sandwich in the other. Not....good.

Hot bath + good book = happy redhead

Kayleamay summed it up pretty good.

Toss in a few lit candles, some chocolate or apples and cheese with a nice glass of wine = a little slice of heaven for this redhead.

I keep a dry towel or washcloth next to the tub to dry damp fingers before turning pages.

Books and baths don't mix! :D

* Get into bath.
* Wash
* Dry hands
* Retrieve book
* Read book
* Get kinda sleepy
* Begin to slump
* Panic
* Throw book to the side
* Cry out as it lands in the toilet
* BATH IS RUINED!!!

See?

I read in the bath every time I take one. My books get wet, dropped, whatever. I don't do anything special to prevent it other than be REALLY careful. :-P

I do both. Showers on work days when I have limited time and baths just to relax.

The only time I take baths are when my girlfriend wants to take a bath together. I'm certainly not bringing a book then. :D

I did know a girl who photocopied her anatomy notes and laminated them so she could bring them in the shower with her (medical school is rough). That was pretty genius.

My books have wavy edges. No need for name plates.

I only shower and trust me, it's not even worth trying to read in the shower.

I've never liked to take baths, they do not appeal to me.

Is there a redhead thing and baths? I'm another redhead who loves books and baths.

I put the book on the side of the tub, though. I can't hold up books because of my bad back. Just keep a towel handy to dry your hands.

Good book + cold beer + hot bath = :D

ditto except usually wine instead of a cold beer.

I just keep my hands out of the water and keep a towel nearby to dry my hands off if I need to. I love a good book and a hot bath!

I sometimes write in the bath. If I'm lucky, I have a pencil to scribble on the side of the tub with so I don't forget everything.

I am very, very careful. But me+bath+books happens only very rarely.
