We could have a "Happy New Decade" thread, but it wouldn't be proper to start that until next year.

Meh, depends on what part the world you're in. Besides, I need to get my new year's wish in early. I probably won't be online after midnight.

The fireworks just started in earnest here, and it feels like my house is under enemy fire. The place is shaking, my ears ringing as mortars hiss dangerously close to where I type this message. I dared peek out the window a moment ago to see the sky ablaze in blues and reds and purples and greens, with tendrils of sharp gold and silver spinning and smoking toward the earth.

And in that cacophony, my hopes rose and prayers spread that we all enjoy some measure of peace and good will in the coming year.

A little gunpowder, a little explosion... that's all it takes to turn you into a big, stuffed teddy-fish.

Happy New Years, Indeed.

Oh, you know me, the usual stuff: peace, love, happiness, butterflies fluttering over a meadow on a sunny spring day.
