Anything and everything you know about rehab?

What do you do there?

How are the staff?

Activities that are commonly done?

Amount of time people stay on average?

Length of stay can be determined by many factors. If someone is court ordered, it may be for 30 days or it may be "until you complete the program". I work at a long term facility. It is up to 1 year, but 6 months is average stay for most people to "complete the program". Has been done in 3 months a time or two.

There are many more short term programs in our state than there are long term. Short term may be 30 days or 45 days. Some programs may be 60 or 90 days. So to complete their program, it takes less time than to complete the program at a long term facility.

Everyone's set up is different. Ours consists of classes during the week. Our state sets a "required" number of hours of therapy per week. Residents go to "group" classes with other individuals. There will be several classes going on at once - different counselors.

Everyone has a chore assigned each day that they are responsible for getting done. There is a schedule for what time to get up, have breakfast, exercise, get chore done, have meditation, go to various classes throughout the day, etc. Phone time is scheduled for certain times of the day - not just anytime you want. You're allowed so many minutes per phone call time - some do by day, others may limit to so many times per week.

Visitation times are set up for family members to visit. (usually a weekend day). Passes may be allowed after one has been there for a good while.
Activities might consist of an occasional outing as a group, community functions such as parades, etc. As far as activities during a weekday when nothing special is going on - they might also work on class assignments, play games such as bingo, have talent shows (no outsiders invited), etc.

Not sure what you are looking for as far as staff. Ours all get along well with the residents and make themselves very accessible.
