Darn, this isn't good news for those of us who find socializing tedious. Is there a book for that...?

Hey guys,

Check this out and please give an opinion. Im curious.

Great book - I have that one. I didn't follow it verbatim, however, it's great advice. I built my platform while writing and it paid off big time. Everything I did trying to create a writing career was by design and it worked.

You might also want to look into http://tribalauthor.com/ by Johnathan Fields.

His main blog is http://www.jonathanfields.com/ and he wrote the "Firefly Manifesto" which helped launch interest in his Career Renegade book.

You can get a ton of info from his posts and free ebooks without shelling out a dime. If you think it's good info in general and want to take the next step, then the Tribal Author thing is for you.

Sign up for the newsletter (which is what I did) to get the free 29 page PDF. Even if you don't go for the paid options, there's enough value in there to get you rocking and rolling.

The book seems intriguing. It's all about building a platform. But isn't that what being apart of Absolute Write is about?

Do you mean does Absolute Write help build platform or can you get advice for building platform at AW? (I'm not sure what the question is)

I totally agree with everything that's said in the blog about the importance of a platform, for all writers, but especially vital for those who write nonfiction.

I have nothing to say about the book being pushed. I never read it and don't plan to do so since I put my own platform together (as part of my proposal) many years ago and update it as I have things to add.
