Posting a poll here to test the waters for AWers' interest in participating in or voting for a Winter Poetry competition.

As things stand, Christmas is too early, so we may just do a winter theme. Tips and suggestions would be appreciated too.

*timidly raises hand*

I'd like to consider being a part of whatever this thing is, but not having been involved previously, could I ask: what are the rules? Who judges? Length? Any type of poem? Who are we promoting to?? (reference previous Feiss thread when there was mention of promoting)

:)

All that stuff is still under debate, Bluestone. This poll is just to see if there are enough people interested.

Usually, w/ AW competitions, the judges are the AW community, we vote on the winning poem.

As of now, it seems like length and format are not going to be limited, and the theme might be something to do with winter.

Last year, if you entered, you had to vote for your top three poems. .

I don't know how to interpret these results. Everyone says yes, but only 12 people have given an opinion.

I wont compete, sorry Feiss, I've read you people's stuff.

I will watch though.

Can't promise, but I might give a winter theme a pop. I've exhausted all my desires to write Christmas poetry for the next six hundred and fifty years.

I'll definitely read and vote but as for writing, all depends if my muse gets back from her vacation....

I'll read and vote... and may participate, depending on the poetry themes involved and such, if there are any. I should come up with something worth a try. ;)

I vote all three! I'll enter, watch the voting from my darkened room, then complain bitterly and refuse to acknowledge it when the results come out! ^_^

I'll enter. I'm sure I can come up with a little something. Poetry isn't exactly my fortay....but I can write them when need calls.

Ah, just the sluttishly dressed Christmas lady-man I was waiting for with bated breath.

Looks like things are underway

I'm new to AW, but I'd be up to submitting a winter- or New-Year-themed poem in the competition - if I can come up something good enough - and reading/voting :)
