I'm betting the white suit needs cleaning by now. :D

I believe Mr. Clemons would be the first to call something like that a waste of time. On the other hand, he'd probably appreciate a fresh cigar and a light. :D

I was reading this thread a few minutes ago, then I left to work on one of my design projects for a local university. Coincidently, this quote was in the text:

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.......Mark Twain

*seriously considers that cross-country road trip I've been contemplating*

Happy Birthday, Mr. Clemens.. thanks for enriching our lives..

Well isn't this ironic, I just signed a publishing contract, TODAY, for my one-act children's play based on Tom Sawyer. Thanks Sam, it's like you're loking down on me and smiling

I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year (1910), and I expect to go out with it. It will be the greatest disappointment of my life if I don't go out with Halley's Comet. The Almighty has said, no doubt: "Now here are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together." -Mark Twain

Thanks for reminding us, Haggis. As you are no doubt aware, Twain was a great admirer of . . . CATS.

His one great fault. But you know, he loved dogs too. Here's one of my favorite Twain short stories.

Happy Birthday MT / SC!

(something else I saw: "Mark Twain didn't actually say half the shit the internet says he did." ;))

Heh. Yogi Berra once "wrote" a book called I Really Didn't Say Everything I Said!
