I've been a freelance magazine writer for two years, part time. That's it. I am having some success and loving learning, but certainly can't call myself a professional writer by a long shot.
I had this weird idea that the book Thimble Summer, by Elizabeth Enright, could be a beautiful movie. Thought, read, thought, dreamed, speculated, thought, read, googled, learned, researched...
So I sent a letter to the publisher, snail mail, as they say they require, to find out who owns the copyright.
Felt ridiculous--an actual concrete step, like why would I want to know? Who do I think I am?

Felt like sharing. Thanks, AW, for listening.

Yep, that first step is always the hardest since it means you now have to finish what you started.

But if it's one of those ideas that won't get out of your head, better to give it a try and put those voices to rest. I hope it all works out.
