I've been a freelance magazine writer for two years, part time. That's it. I am having some success and loving learning, but certainly can't call myself a professional writer by a long shot.
I had this weird idea that the book Thimble Summer, by Elizabeth Enright, could be a beautiful movie. Thought, read, thought, dreamed, speculated, thought, read, googled, learned, researched...
So I sent a letter to the publisher, snail mail, as they say they require, to find out who owns the copyright.
Felt ridiculous--an actual concrete step, like why would I want to know? Who do I think I am?
Felt like sharing. Thanks, AW, for listening.
