Stephen King is the master of phrases that nobody has used, but are funny and new.

"Jesus Christ Bananas" is one that made me laugh pretty hard. As is "What a fuck-a-row".

I'd just like to point out that ALL phrases are author-created.

I like "jack in", which I think Gibson also invented. And Neal Stephenson added a whole new dimension to the phrase, "I'm sure they'll listen to reason", in Snow Crash.

Not true. My Dad isn't an author, but he came up with the gem 'Never cross your bridges before they're hatched.'
